christmas this year

been waiting for today - the 25th. 

only because i want it to be OVER. 

its fun, but i've never been super enthusiastic about holidays. i've tried and it's never what i try to make it. *ba humbug* right? yeah. 

but i got a hatchet & a knife. and glass shelf cases to keep my mysterious & unusual trinkets incased in. just my style. 

i'm glad the new year is coming. it's silly that i tell myself to start doing something when its the new year rather than now. i guess its just nice to bring fresh to the table when its a fresh set of numbers on the board. all of it : fresh. 

i'm quite surprised i've gotten any gifts at all really. i've been nothing but naughty all year. perhaps i've done some good here and there unknowingly. i can't be sure. i'll have to look back and add the deeds up and minus the scandal and see where that leaves me. not that it matters, since i've already gotten gifts. 

heres to a new year, a new lease on life ... a new start.

oh man

just decorated our big tree with what seems to be about a billion vintage ornaments. and even tho it looks super pretty, just the thought of putting all of this christmas decor away ........ OH MAN. i am hoping to donate half of the decor (not the ornaments) after this year. for real. i love christmas but gollllllllllllly its a lot of work.\

i am pooped.

this week was busy at work. and at home.

my mind is going a million miles an hour all the time. i dont have time to think about stupid things really. sometimes i wish i did. wish i could breath and stop for lunch.......""

its 10:41 already / ? it seems earlier. but im so tired. i guess i should go to sleep.

i dont like it when im missing people.

and when i cant see them. such a strange sort of unachievable longing.

i try to push it aside.

i totally scored at the thrift stores today.

i dont even know why i try shopping at actual shops. because the thrift stores pretty much suit me way better. and i look awesome. i'll have to start taking more photos of my self and my clothes. but wow that sounds like a lot of time and effort that i just dont seem to have .

sooooooooo a couple weeks ago i accidentally tore the life out of my Gstar jeans.... it was a terrible tragedy & i cried. i thought i couldnt get them fixed and so i was very discouraged. but , low & behold.... they have been repaired by the best seamstress in town. HOORAY! cassie wins one!

i should be keeping score of how many times i win.

today i won twice, that i can remember.

i got a cotton branch with real tufts of cotton on it.

its beautiful.

next time i get a boyfriend i hope he knows that i would much rather prefer dried branches of cotton or something odd & unique rather than run of the mill flowers from a grocery store. and i also hope he doesnt read this , because that would be cheating. i might have to delete this entire post if i ever start having time for guys again. which i dont see happening anytime soon. my mind cant be wasted upon some selfish, cruel, fake man again. i have to be more careful. which means i need to be more educated. so that will take some time because im not about to let it happen again. caution........ right?

okay okay christmas

so it was my first christmas with my little family here in utah. it was pretty sweet. mitch & i woke up early and opened each others presents to each other. he loves his new googles i got for him. he kept trying them on all morning it was cute. got him two sweaters by SHOGO . coffee and other little things.

Mitch totally spoiled me. i know its not nice to brag, but i want to do it anyway. he got me these SOREL boots.... i am in love.

he also got me three pairs of over the knee socks which i am also in love with. and a crock pot !! we made peach cobbler in it yesterday.... yummmmm . & some other things but i dont want to brag tooooooo much.

my cat is so funny. she has routines she likes to follow. one of them is when i wake up in the mornings she gets up too and comes over to my face and tries to get under the covers with me. she curls up against my chest and i cover us up and she starts to purr. another thing is i can't ever shut the door when i shower and shes around. she has to come in and sit and wait for me or watch me. if i shut the door she meows and paws at the door. also, she fetches. when she wants to play she brings one of her toys (the ones i made her) up onto the bed and sits down and meows until i pick it up and throw it. then she brings it back, i throw it, etc. its so funny. i love that my cat plays fetch. shes so cool.


so for christmas i'm going to go to the paynes [link] for brunch. one time he gave me two balled up pieces of paper that he called "a cherry". is so cute and creative he cracks me up. it will be fun and new this year. i'm excited for it./
