drink? smoke? what?

I've said this a few times today, oddly: "Quantum Physics at its finest" ---
I honestly love quantum physics. It's an intense thing I have somehow managed to learn and understand. Its an absolutely beautiful concept and actuality. I don't know if i make sense or am being grammatically correct. I don't actually care.

Today my fantastic brilliant friend Adrianna randomly started to talk to me about how she is lucky and fortunate enough to not have been addicted to anything in her life. and how she understands how it's "fucking scary", "helpless", and "i can't even imagine" ... I am right there with her, I agree with what she said. but, oddly enough after having this conversation with her, I had a completely separate discussion with my old friend Jackie about our old (young) drinking days. Maybe its embarrassing for my parents that I was a slight problem child, I lived life defying what was expected and always tested what I could get away with - but its part of my life story, so what can I say. It happened.

We always pushed the limit and played with fire. We constantly tested what we could do and experience. It was hilarious, intense and a gamble. We had each other and we took hundreds of photos. That's off track of where I was going with this.  Jackie and I started to talk about how LUCKY we were to have started to mess around with alcohol at an early age. A lot of people think that if you mess around with substance early that you're doomed. which may or may not be true. If you use me as an example, its not the shiniest one you can find, but over all....... we came to the conclusion that it's BETTER. because you get all the mayhem and bullshit out of your system. you get the sneaky, shifty, embarrassing habits and tendencies taken care of. People don't hold you accountable for your actions as much as they do when you are older.

You might make a few mistakes and over do it in your adult years, but whatever. At least you aren't cutting lose and getting completely stupid while you are an actual functional adult in society.
We figured that we have our wits, charm and sensibilities all because we did our stupid things, while we were stupid kids. and now we have a handle on ourselves. We have never been addicted in our lives to anything. Maybe its just luck that we were never addicted to anything, who knows. But I feel pretty glad that I was wild and crazy in my younger years rather than being a mess in my adult years. We can look back and laugh at our hilarious stories over a glass of wine.

Its something to think about.
who knows....

true words

if children live with criticism, they learn to condemn
if children live with hostility they learn to fight
if children live with ridicule, they learn to be shy
if children live with shame, they learn to be guilty
if children live with tolerance, the learn to be patient
if children live with encouragement, they learn to be confident
if children live with praise, they can learn to appreciate
if children live with fairness, they learn justice
if children live with security, they learn to have faith
if children live with approval, they learn to like themselves
if children live with acceptance & friendship
they learn to find love in the world

really into natural occurrences lately.. for the obvious reasons. its just wonderful to know that the earth is alive and letting us know it. however, its not so wonderful when people are being devastated and harmed.. its terrible. i wish there was more i could do than just donating $10 . i wish i had a home big enough to let a family live with me. or i wish i could fly over there and help the kids who are lost and scared. i just feel so helpless for all of those helpless people. i'm sad thinking about it. can't talk to long about what's going on. it makes me really antsy because i can't do anything, like i said.

aside from the sadness involved with natural movements & shifts.. its all pretty amazing and it makes me want to re-take my geology class. it was one of my favorites. i also want to take french class so i can learn french like a real french girl. i feel like such a faker! haha.

storms, earthquakes, volcanoes, tornados... beautiful. i guess from a safe distance of course... but even still. i feel like going back to kansas to try to witness a tornado. how absolutely thrilling and exhilarating would that be ! wow. i've also always wanted to hike on a volcano . kinda dangerous. but how special would that be. everything is so cool in this world. i am itching to get goin to see it all. wish it was possible...

i have something to say

i think old kid tv shows are better than new ones.
new kid tv shows are ridiculous. they are too technical & in depth with things that kids don't even know about or care about. there are too many unnecessary things that don't even grab their attention. for example

i'm sitting here watching scooby-doo with payton. first i put on a new one that was made this year (2010). it was RETARDED. she didn't even care to watch it. because it was just like. what? daphne was upset because fred didn't notice her and all this relationship crap. kids don't care. I wasn't even interested in watching it. i can't even tell you what else was going on because thats how much i didn't even pay attention.
so then i put on a scooby-doo from 1969 ... so perfect. its to the point, no retarded crap between the characters like relationships or whatever. just good old fashioned mystery & spooky scenes. shaggy & scooby eating un-realistic food quantities .. its wonderful. there is even fake laughter from an audience in the background when any of the characters say a one-liner! so good!
she is watching it and into it. why can't these people just re-run the old shoes? its not like these kids have seen it before.. hello... plus kids LOVE repetition. they enjoy seeing a show they've seen before. so why do we keep making new ones when the old ones can never be topped?

drives me nuts.

i really hope it storms here in the valley tonight. it was raining & thundering up in the mountains at albion today. it was so pretty up there. got eaten alive by mosquitoes...

me, easton & eli went on a little hike. it was really nice, its super green up there now with tons of wild flowers.

but, it started to rain near the end of our little get together, so we packed up and headed out.
