the beat of the week ~~

so here i am.

busy as a bee.

work 7 days a week.

at the office on days . coffee on weekends.

herb school, friends, family, cleaning, etsy & cuddlin my cat in the time i have left over.

money saving. car fixing. school planning. music finding. pumpkin craving. thrift shopping. healthy eating. positive step taking.

i'm also getting glasses ! because i actually need them. i always knew i did. they are ... so perfect for me. can't wait to show them off. the perks of working at an optometrist office. i do exams on people & all that fun stuff. it really is fun, i'm not being sarcastic. i love my job.

last weekend my great pal brooke & i decided to be tourists in our own town: Camino aka Apple Hill. it was probably the best idea we've ever had. because it was the best day ever. we went to Kids Inc for their delicious pies for breakfast. then we dinked around at various other farms & got ourselves some souvenirs . we then decided to go to Boeger Winery for some wine tasting & a bottle of Boeger Hangtown Gold on the grass for brunch. delicious & peaceful!

Then we went to some other farms & decided to hit up good ol' Jack Russell Brewery because they had tents & live music... nice nice. we decided to each get a hotdog .. (brooke got veggie) & it was so delicious. we watched a man blow glass with special glasses .

then our last stop was Argyres Orchards for face painting! we decided it was a must. Brooke got lady bugs & bumble bees with vines & i got a unicorn & star bursts. so awesome.

all in all... it was a spectacular day.

pies & packing

i hate packing.

i love cooking.

so i decided to mix the two today

so that i wouldn't be so annoyed at whats going on.

i think thats fair right?

so i made mini-pies for mitch's early birthday present

& bacon tomato avocado & pasta for his dinner.

i even put an egg glaze on the top so they are shiny & perfect.

but i'm still really irritated about packing.

there is so much stuff i have to pack.

and i feel sickness coming on. in my throat.

my throat doesn't hurt but it feels different when i swallow

& its had this strange taste in my mouth that wont leave all morning & day.

i feel fuzzy too. i need a hot bath again.

i also don't like my built-in retainer.

i want it removed. decided.

i'm kind of sick of red wine. i think i will switch to white wine for a while.

been applying at bakeries and goodie shops for a job.

i think i might have gotten a job at Bruges Waffles & Frites.

and i am really excited about it.

i am addicted and constantly craving their vanilla waffles with creme fraiche & blueberries.

so i decided i need to apply .

feelin a little festive lately.

but i still dont have a costume. or even an idea for one.

maybe i just will be a bummer this halloween and not dress up. like usual

thankful for .. walkin closets

(the double as a hideout) i am thankful for my cat.. anouk seldean. i love her more than anything. i am thankful for my totally radical family. because they are hilarious and keep not only my family.. but EVERYONE on their toes. i am thankful for my car.. my trusty subaru legacy outback. for sweet warm candles & chocolate. for my friends near and far - old & young. for lots and lots of things.but today .. i am thankful for my leather boots and leather jacket because it is going to rain.

i am going down to sacramento today to see brooke.. whom i have not seen in a long long time. jackie is coming with me because she is home for a couple days too. i haven't seen either of them for quite some time. i am excited. we are going to get tea.

i took some photos of my thanksgiving last night. well, of the dessert. hahahaha ... & we didn't eat the cat food.. i got those for my 3 cats.. don't judge me.. i love my cats.

that apple pie was cracking me up because it was so tall. and that was their smallest one! they come in sizes.. we got the apple and the pumpkin pies from the Kids INC farm.. sooo yummy. im going to have pumpkin pie for breakfast. i am disgusting when it comes to eating food. i never eat it at the right time. but i dont even care.
i tried to make sams moms recipe of breadsticks and i thought i was doing great but they didnt even work! they didnt rise at all. and i put yeast in. yeast hates me. i am not a very good baker. but i can cook. one day i'll learn to make breadsticks the right way.
