the world around me

when i look back on things i have taken photos of sometimes i am confused as to how i got that photo. luck i guess. i get really lucky with photos. thats one of the only things i get lucky with it seems. i always seem to be in the right place at the right time. and i need to share my photos more often. because i never know if they will be lost forever. 

today i am in another daze. nothing seems real and i feel like it is maybe 4 years in the past. my dreams keep convincing me that it is a different time. i dont know what to do with myself and i keep feeling stress, confusion, pressure and guilt creep around the corners and start to over whelm me again. 

i always thought i didn't get stressed. i mean, i dont. i dont really know why i can feel it now. i've never cared too much about anything entirely. except the things i dream about. time is moving slower for me today. for the first time in a year i think, or maybe even longer. but i cant remember my past too well anymore. 

maybe now i can lay in the grass and watch clouds. and do those simple weird things that people are able to do. go on a walk. i dont know. obviously i dont know, and didnt know. other wise i wouldnt be here now. i hope i can figure it out. i still feel empty.

go to March - Week 2 . my picture is the last one on page 2, of the light painting music clef symbol on the shore of lake tahoe.. you can even see my silhouette when i was drawing it ! love it. and i actually took the picture , not chris. but chris was the "artistic director" behind it.

i'm going to submit another picture i took on that same night.. of the milky way. its probably the most amazing picture i've ever taken ... and probably will ever take.

i'm just so excited that national geographic chose my photo out of all the ones they probably get for the daily dozen! i mean ... how incredible! look at all the other photos there, some are just so beautiful and it pleases me to know that my photography is worthy!

its snowing so much right now. its up to my shins. OH hey wait wait. i looked outside... and now its not anymore... thank god. i wish it was earlier in the day so that it would melt. cause i don't want the snow. it really inconveniences me... i'm jealous because utah has spring weather.. lucky's.....

anyway, here is one last picture of my blond hair for you all : i call it the "before" picture. and tomorrow i'll take a picture of my new hair when there is daylight. its beautiful. its a dark brownish red. i love it. it makes me feel alive or something. i was feelin so "spicy" because of my red hair that i even painted my nails red. i think i'll call it bell pepper red. i really want a red cardigan now. i used to not like red. but now i really like it. its my color lately i think.

got up this morning to find a soft blanket of fresh snow on the ground.

2010 has gone by really fast.

time flies when youre having fun.

or when youre not looking

or paying attention

or too busy with a scrambled life.

i guess it just really passes by no matter what you happen to be doing

did i get a lot accomplished during 2010? well i guess so.

i got my Bachelors in Alternative Systems of Medicine.

i'm studying herbs now.

I moved to Utah to be with my new family.

I got by .

I've been happy.

I've grown - not literally . but mentally.

I've learned how to do a lot of things

and how to be a lot of things

i've done a whole lot.

i plan to do more next year. lets hope i have the time & the energy tho.

normally people write this before or after new years

but my year comes to an end when winter begins

because i dont like winter. i only like spring and summer.

but this winter i want to snow shoe & snow mobile.

maybe i will try skiing. this girl i work with - meg - ski's and she seems really cool so maybe she'll help me out with it and she also said i could buy one of her jackets. since i dont have one. and shes my size. and i dont need anything brand new . reUSE. & recycle. we'll see if i can "make the most of it" like Mitch said. but dang. winter sucks. sorry. ha

california ho!

so mitch & i left utah around 10am or something . and about 1 hour into our trip his CD player broke. HAHAHA. 10 hour drive with nothing but shitty radio & AM updates on the blizzard & road conditions. basically it showed us that we can entertain ourselves & each other pretty well for 10 hours. plus it took us longer since we had to drive thru TWO blizzards!

blizzard #1

i will admit that a couple of times i felt like screaming because mitch took it upon himself to be the vocal entertainment on the drive since the CD player was caput... not saying his singing is bad.. but his choice of songs were just .. oh my god. haha. we played 20 questions. and ate bad food. and hit the back of a car because the road was icey ... best part was the guy didnt care at all and there was zero damage. we win! and we didnt get pulled over at all ! (thanks to my handy dandy radar detector) and we made it thru both blizzards easy peasy.

so much ice was hanging off the car we had to kick off.

and we arrived safely in freezing cold Reno for the night and made ourselves cozy at the Hyatt Place ... easily my favorite hotel i've ever stayed in and i HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. plus it smells so delicious i wish my perfume smelled like the Hyatt . you think i'm kidding but i'm not.

so anyways we will be in california today by 10 or 11 . and then the real fun shall begin. im happy mitch came with me on this trip. and i cant wait to blog about this fun little family adventure when it's all over. but i also cant wait to get back to utah.

snow

last night we had a craazzzzyyy wind & rain storm. i thought the house was going to blow away. the rain was pelting the house so hard & the wind was sending ripples and waves across the pavement. so this morning upon waking .. we look outside and there is snow on the mountains... oh boy... freezing. i need more clothes for this kind of weather. brrrr.

funny story. so i was JUST ABOUT TO POST THIS last night .. and the power went out. it was the best/worst timing. how funny.

so i knew it was going to snow. the news said a couple inches. i woke up to feet of snow.. and it was still snowing. i wasn't worried tho because i have a subaru and it glides thru the snow like there isnt even any snow in the first place. so whatever. but then i throw on my snowboots and go out side and .. low & behold .. it went OVER the boots.. which go almost to my knee caps. so i was like cool now my pants are wet.

i dried them off once i got into the carport. i was fine.

then i backed up into the snow and plowed the way out of my driveway and onto the freeway. it was so easy. but then.. the mayhem started to take place.

the freaks and idiots were out and about. driving like they were blind, damaged or invisible. so i had to take backroads. which was risky. SUPER risky. but i did it. so i was almost to my college.. crusin down the road. no big deal. then out of NO WHERE i see a huge oak tree covering the whole road. yeah you would think that a person could see a giant oak tree blocking the whole road from far away right/? nope not the case. so i was like holy shiiiii and had to pump my breaks and swerve off. and turn around and got mad a bit since i was SO CLOSE and now i had to go all the way back? damn.

so off i went. to brave hwy50 going up the mountain to my home. what a mess. people suck. some people were trying to make two lanes on the free way and it was like.. okay just back off and chill out because you're going to get stuck, hold up traffic ,and piss everyone off so just go slow (and p.s. DONT TAIL GATE ME IN SNOW , ARE YOU STUPID?) and deal with it. when i wasn't having fun driving thru the snow - i was getting pissed off at the idiots around me who were driving too close to me or driving their tiny lame cars in feet of snow & getting stuck. who does that? your toyota camery doesn't belong on any road during a blizzard (or at all?) so don't try to act like you can do it. whatever! so i finally get home. after an hour of maneuvering around fools and plowing thru snow and i go up my drive way and .. not even kidding.. i get stuck. i was going up and down steep hills on unplowed back roads with thick snow and i didn't get stuck. hahaha but as soon as i reach my own domain my car is like eh whatever im tired. so i had to call my dad to save it.

but i must say that when i left my house it was almost to my knees so my car did fine, and it did fine down the hill because its lower so even though it had a lot of snow it didnt have as much as it did up higher. and then here in this picture .. the snow was up to my mid thigh. i am only 5'2 but still that's some serious snow.

(i also think i REALLY need a microscope.. because anyone that knows me knows i love macro images. so a microscope would rule. plus i want to see my own snowflakes.)
