not much to say it seems.. i don't know whats significant enough to write. i've been in utah for almost 2 weeks. just got back to california. having two homes is rough. i love utah & california so much. so different from each other. i need more friends in utah tho. because i have so many friends in california and i love having friends over and meeting up with them etc. i need that in utah too. i'm tired .
i'm craving salmon . & i want to go kayaking .
OH !! hey .... went on a hot air balloon ride this weekend! it was incredible ! i loved it sooooo much , it was beautiful. we took some photos , as best we could. but i was so happy to do this! everyone knows its been one of my dreams to do it. it was everything i expected. peaceful, beautiful, thrilling, FUN, & lovely.
me & mitch
after landing , deflating the balloon
the view from the air over park city with
another hot air balloon in the distance
i miss utah . cant wait to head back. WISH ME LUCK.
this is a huge blog post . its HOT in california. am i ready for summer ? i hope.
so i got back from my 7 day vacation with my boy & girl - mitch & payton. we stayed at mitch's sisters house with her family . they are so wonderful and welcoming! i really loved it. we went to the beach, universal studios, disneyland and did so many other fun things. it was such a sweet fun filled vacation and i am so happy. i love my little family so much ! here are some photos from the trip ...
first day at the beach
mitch & i's date day - went to olvera street
roller blading champions ....
we went to universal studios too
super cheesey photo of us in front of the universal studios globe
payton & i laughing because we were tickling
disneyland ! she was tired at first... so no smiles.
but once we got into the park she was so excited !
her "1st visit" pin !
(that i had to wear all day because she didn't like how big it was)
she loved meeting minnie
& ariel of course
pay , dad & cheshire cat
she loved her cotton candy ...
and we shared ! perfect way to end the disneyland experience !
but now that i'm back here in northern california, my body is sore, my back hurts, my mind is restless and i miss the guts outta payton & mitch ! its sad. can't wait to go back to utah... *sigh*
i got some junk today. gonna put it to good use. i'm gonna try to go to garage sales often and get some neat stuff. i wish mitch was here with me. tomorrow i'm going to the river with jackie to relax for a bit. then i'm going to go get my new computer! woo! i'm hungry & tired. i love roux, shes so soft. she misses mitch, payton & tank a lot. i can tell. i have to go wash my hands. i'll blog later when i have cool stuff to say. who knows when that might be..
seriously one of the funniest things ever and i can't stop watching it because it cracks me up so much. everything is so perfect. hahaha! i love when shes shoving the food in her mouth. this baby does it perfect its great
and yesterday we celebrated mitch's 30th birthday. it was fun. here is the cake that was made for him: his brother adam, did the darth vadar & chewbacca part... hahaha. & payton put the numbers on... makes mitch look younger. ha!
i was supposed to drive home to california today but last night i was really really sick and i barely got any sleep, so i'm leaving wednesday instead. i couldn't imagine driving 10 hours while being super tired and sick. yuck. so i'm just resting and doing last minute errands in the mean time.. so fun..
its been a while since ive posted a good old fashioned blog. i dont have much to say. been doin school work. going outside in the chilly but clear weather. just gettin by. looking for a job sorta. wishing i had a neat camera to take special effects photos. i'm really glad i sold my nikon. i just want a cheap camera of some sort. simple. mitch's droid broke so now i don't get to have it when he gets his iphone. (mad)
recently just viewed THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH courtesy of meg*clay* ... one of my new favorites. its wonderful. i still need to go to dinner with her. she's a friend. we also just connected the super nintendo and i have been watching mitch play mario land or something. i was laughing so much. "i got greedy" is what he said when he died once trying to get more coins. i couldn't stop laughing at that. i've also been havin a blast playing with our new iPad/
technology !
anyway
what is a good valentines day gift? a professional massage? a homemade surprise dinner? i just don't know how valentines day works. because i've never had a valentine before and i've never really ever celebrated this holiday with anyone. truth. i'm 22 and i've never before had a real valentine or even gotten a card or flowers or anything like that. weird. but thats my life and i think its more funny than sad . i'm really cool.
i came across a folder of photos this morning and so i wanted to post some up. i love them. and i can't wait for summer timmmmmmeeee. summerDAZE/ days / ways . love it . its so soon i feel but yet , dang. not really.
so mitch & i left utah around 10am or something . and about 1 hour into our trip his CD player broke. HAHAHA. 10 hour drive with nothing but shitty radio & AM updates on the blizzard & road conditions. basically it showed us that we can entertain ourselves & each other pretty well for 10 hours. plus it took us longer since we had to drive thru TWO blizzards!
blizzard #1
i will admit that a couple of times i felt like screaming because mitch took it upon himself to be the vocal entertainment on the drive since the CD player was caput... not saying his singing is bad.. but his choice of songs were just .. oh my god. haha. we played 20 questions. and ate bad food. and hit the back of a car because the road was icey ... best part was the guy didnt care at all and there was zero damage. we win! and we didnt get pulled over at all ! (thanks to my handy dandy radar detector) and we made it thru both blizzards easy peasy.
this is the passenger side of the car after both blizzards -
the front of the car is to the right. serious!
so much ice was hanging off the car we had to kick off.
and we arrived safely in freezing cold Reno for the night and made ourselves cozy at the Hyatt Place ... easily my favorite hotel i've ever stayed in and i HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. plus it smells so delicious i wish my perfume smelled like the Hyatt . you think i'm kidding but i'm not.
so anyways we will be in california today by 10 or 11 . and then the real fun shall begin. im happy mitch came with me on this trip. and i cant wait to blog about this fun little family adventure when it's all over. but i also cant wait to get back to utah.
last night we had a craazzzzyyy wind & rain storm. i thought the house was going to blow away. the rain was pelting the house so hard & the wind was sending ripples and waves across the pavement. so this morning upon waking .. we look outside and there is snow on the mountains... oh boy... freezing. i need more clothes for this kind of weather. brrrr.
its true. autumn is in the air. its "brisk" at night (as mitch puts it) & crisp in the mornings. and actually the whole today today is really cool and breezy. its nice. it just feels so fresh. i want to make sour cream apple bars but i'm going to wait for a special sort of occasion to make them instead of just randomly.
i wanted to go on a sweet little romantic hot air balloon ride just me & mitch but its freaking costs an arm & a leg for just one person to ride for an hour... totally sucks. oh well. maybe one day.
whenever fall comes around i like having little fall accents around the house because it makes me feel cozy & reminds me that its time for :
- warm food
- sweaters
- cuddles under blankets
- trips up to the canyons to see the fall colors
- beanies
- boots
- seeing your breath when you walk outside
- the heater & the fireplace
- yummy treats likes apple pie
- puzzles
- socks
- family
- soooup! chilli. minestrone stew.
- snuggles.
all the good stuff.
oh pumpkin carving. duh.
oh i was telling mitch how i'd love to grow pumpkins.. maybe one day.
tonight i couldnt stop laughing. it all started at the dinner table. then i got up to go to the sink and started to laugh all over again and laughed so hard i cried. been laughin ever since. i havent laughed that hard in a while.
here is a picture of me and payton laughing on the kitchen floor. mitch took it.
this morning a storm woke me up because mitch forgot to close the blinds. so the flash of lightening woke me up. plus it was super cold. and the window was open. and i had to pee really bad. payton was awake too. oh ya this was at around 6:30 am! fun! so payton and i came down stairs and watched Barbie... somethin about rainbows and whatnot. and ate oatmeal. made coffee and well, just kinda lazied around all day long in our warm pants and stuff. however the storm didn't stay all day, but the chill did . we went on a walk and a mitch caught a grasshopper and handed it to payton & it jumped out of her hand and then jumped on her leg and it scared her really bad but.... i couldn't stop laughing... i didn't let her see i was laughing tho. that would have been mean. but for some reason just the fact that it decided to jump back onto her after trying to get away was hysterical to me.
so i havent really blogged in a while. sorry if i'm boring. whatevs oh well. time to play this game with mitch.. farcry... whatever
so mitch finally came back from the east coast on wednesday and he brought me back surprises! he went to this store called Lush and got me bath soaps, bath bombs & bath melts. he got me this sea salt scrub that is divine oh and he also got me this lotion called Dream Cream that is amazzzzing. he got Hope in a Jar for my face because i have dry skin. and basically i am a smooth skinned, soft & moisturized lady now thanks to him. still so happy with my fun cosmetics he brought me. I have a great thoughtful boyfriend. since when have i been this lucky?
Tonight I am cooking dinner for Mitch's parents, niece, nephew & brother. I'm excited to feed everyone my food.
last night i attended Jake & Lauras wedding ..... it was cool . the last wedding i attended was my Fairy Godmothers which was quite a long time ago. I've been to about 40 or more weddings but i've always worked at them... being a guest at one like last night is a whole different story. i really liked it. It was pretty & relaxed. And i realized it was Mitch & I's first appearance as a couple in public around lots of people. hahaha. i mean we've gone out in public and stuff but not to events. i really enjoyed it. Cheers to Jake & Laura for tying the knot.
Haven't seen one friend yet . But thats okay, its not like i'm limited on time or anything. I've been establishing my place as head of the household & boss. haha yeah right. We've been updating our home and getting ahead of ourselves with the ideas we keep coming up with.
We painted the fireplace border area "Volcanic Earth" brown ... We have potted herbs ... Rosemary in the kitchen. Chives, Basil, and ummm i forget the other two. those are outside.
Tonight mitch and i are going to Temper Trap. I get to meet basically everyone he knows.
Mitch & I have also been literally eaten alive by mosquitoes in our own home. I have 3 on my face. 5 on my left leg. 2 on my left arm. 2 on my feet. And more other places i just am sick of thinking about it.
ummmmm well.
I skyped my cat yesterday.. it was nice but i miss her a lot. im such a sucker for my cat.
AMAZING! absolutely in love with that blog right now. the creativity people possess seriously astounds me. it makes me want to pick up a crayon just to try it. but i know it will be super difficult to do what she does.. she makes it look so easy! i love it. i love sharing wonderful things like this with everyone. i hope it gives everyone a little tingle of excitement like it did for me.
Some Advice for everyone:
#10 - For the most part, what others think doesn’t matter. : the times when someone else’s opinion of you truly matters are few and far between. Think first impressions, like meeting your significant other’s family, meeting a new client, or meeting a potential employer for a job interview. Don’t let other people rent space in your head. What they think of you isn’t important. What matters most is how you feel about yourself. #9 - Explore new hobbies and opportunities often. : I try new things as they come up, whether it’s a new restaurant, a new beer, or a new pastime. When you try new things, you discover more and more things that you enjoy. #8 - Nobody knows what you’re thinking unless you tell them. : People can’t read your mind. This goes for your significant other, your employer, and that hot girl you’re too scared to talk to. Relationships can’t improve unless you communicate. #7 - Talk to everyone in college. : College is the best opportunity you’ll ever have to build a complex, varied network of smart people. Use it to your advantage and get your name out there, because grades mean nothing in the real world. #6 - Leave every job on good terms. : Giving up all opportunities for future recommendations for one fleeting moment to tell your employer what you really think about them is a bad trade. Give two weeks notice, and say thanks for the opportunity to work with them — even if it’s bullshit. #5 - Pay your dues. : Stick to it. Hopping from company to company looking for something “better” may allow you to get ahead in the short-term, but in the long-term your resume will become a mishmash of temporary stints that makes you look like a quitter. In the end, persistence creates an impression of dedication and relevant experience — and it will outshine any other attribute, every time. #4 - Invest in yourself. : When you invest in yourself you can never lose. This applies to everything: Learn to cook. You’ll save a bajillion dollars on food in your lifetime. Learn a foreign language. You’ll expand your horizons and be easily employable. Learn to spend less than you earn. You’ll never be broke. #3 - You can’t change anything by just sitting back and looking at it. : Change requires two things: a conscious decision to accomplish something, and follow-through. If you want something accomplished, then do it now. If it can’t be done now, then do it today. If it can’t be done today, then start it today. Change is tough, but the most difficult step is getting started. Of course once you’ve actually started, the most difficult step is following through. Change is tricky like that — but know that if you truly want it, you’ll find a way to create change in your life. #2 - Expect people to be negative, especially if you’re carving your own path. : In all walks of life, you won’t see eye-to-eye with everyone. People will come out of the woodwork to tell you that you’ll fail, tell you that you suck, laugh at you, argue with you, call you names, write you messages laced with profanity, and be altogether unpleasant. As Tony Gazzo from Rocky put it, “Some guys, they just hate for no reason.” The thing is, although it’s common to receive negativity from strangers, you’ll find that even the people you know and love can surprise you with negative attitudes. No matter who it is that’s trying to boo you off the stage, don’t let them succeed in doing so. #1 - Do what you are. : We’ve all heard that ”If you love what you do, you will never work another day in your life.” The problem is that few people seem to actually have this luxury. It seems that somewhere along the line the consensus changed to “If you do what you need to do, when you need to do it, then maybe someday you can do what you want to do, when you want to do it.” You end up spending the majority of your life waiting for that someday to arrive. I’d tell myself that the right choice is much simpler: Do what you are. As long as you’re true to yourself, and follow your own interests, you can find success through passion.
